Time to Let Him Cook: Fresco Kane Drops "Crazy" Visualizer Ahead of New EP Hip Hop and R&B veteran Fresco Kane is putting in work this quarter with the official visualizer for his latest single, “Crazy.” This powerful track (released in 2025 alongside his catalog classic “Coke Bottle” ) instantly proves why the St. Louis artist continues to excel. His seamless blend of soulful R&B mastery and sharp street lyricism is a duality that has earned him recognition, from his work with legends like Mariah Carey (co-writer of “With You”) to his hit collaboration with Nelly . The new visualizer is a signal that it’s time to "Let him cook" —because the main course is coming. Fresco Kane personally confirms to us that “Crazy” is the prelude to his highly anticipated EP, “Shrimp & Gritz,” set to drop First Quarter 2026 . The EP title suggests a potent mix of classic flavor and modern finesse, promising a project that will satisfy both long-time fans...

#MikeOnScene New Music Alert: Papoose, DJ XO, and the NerveDJs Plug-In

#MikeOnScene New Music Alert: Papoose, DJ XO, and the NerveDJs Plug-In I hit the blog today to talk about an incredible night of networking and music that proves the legacy and future of our culture is vibrant! This opportunity came via The NerveDJs Bi-Weekly Zoom Meet & Greet on Tuesday, September 23rd at 7 pm, hosted by BIG HEFF, CHIE MONEY & OG DJ JOHNNY O. I'm not a Nerve DJ, but I'm proud to be a longtime supporter of their work. My connection with Big Heff runs deep—all the way back to my 2015 live events and radio days with Phil Cleveland aka @djwhobeta on Instagram, long before the #MikeOnScene and Mike Tree Media came through. It’s always dope to see that kind of rooted connection keep things moving. 1. Houston Culture and the Unstoppable Support We heard from DJ XO, Multi-Platinum producer for Summer Walker and many more, who put it simply: his success is straight up Houston culture. He talked about the genuine support, the sound, and the scene that fueled hi...

Image
A Day of Discovery at Ah TV Network's Conference: A Vision for St. Louis Creatives "Over my career, I've had over 700 interns that had arts, entertainment, and media dreams. But too often, and too high of a percentage of those interns, went on to other career paths. I created this opportunity to share connections, to help encourage, inspire, and challenge the St. Louis creatives to create a solid network so the arts and entertainment community can thrive locally." These powerful words, slightly paraphrased, come from Andre Holman, the visionary CEO of Ah TV Network. A St. Louis native and media veteran, Holman launched Ah TV Network to deliver inspiring and insightful content. His decades of experience transforming STL TV and mentoring hundreds of aspiring media professionals clearly drove his commitment to nurturing local talent. This profound vision was the driving force behind the recent three-day "2025 Creatives Connect in the STL" conference. I recently...

Snuggle Up for Literacy Event Recap!

Image
I had the absolute pleasure of attending this incredible literacy event with my son.  My amazing friend, community advocate Aja La'Starr Owens, invited us, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The energy was electric!  From the moment we arrived, we were immersed in a world of captivating stories, engaging activities, and a powerful message of self-love and empowerment.  🙌 The authors were phenomenal!  Pancho Rucker's heartfelt stories, like "Hey You Black Girl" and "Chin Up Chest Out," resonated deeply with both kids and adults.  And Stanley K. & Tavonda P. Harvey's "Kash & Palmer Presents: I Love Myself" had everyone captivated with its message of self-esteem. The interactive activities were a blast!  My son loved participating in the word games, creative writing exercises, and even got to create his own story.  It was inspiring to see so many young minds engaged and excited about reading and writing.  ✏️ This ev...
